In January 2006, following recommendations of an American friend, Zé Carlos, who had never been involved in horse assisted education, attended the EGEA - Equine Guided Education Association in Bodega Bay, California. It was love at first sight. After spending three days in the meeting led by Ariana Strozzi, consultant, trainer and President of EGEA, Zé Carlos decided to do a few pilot projects in horse assisted education when returning to Brazil.
These pilot projects, conducted in February 2006, where enthusiastically accepted by the clients and thus the idea of Kheiron was born and became a reality in March 2006.
Today, the horse assisted education sessions are carried in two different places. At Carpe Diem Ranch, a 5 star event center in Itapecerica da Serra, 30 minutes from São Paulo, and at Clube Hípico Santo Amaro in the Southern part of São Paulo. ( see pictures of both sites by clicking in “ Locais de Treinamento ” ).
The one day program offered focuses on strengthening leadership capabilities in executives and promoting team-building concepts. This is done through a balanced mix of class room training on concepts and experiential training with horses in the arena. In addition, as a treat to the heart and soul of the participants, using the preserved Mata Atlântica woods that exist on both training sites as a background, there are half hour breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, of energetic labor gymnastics and therapeutic humor nature walks.
Two health food coffee breaks are part of the program, as well as a 5 star “ Brazilian Churrasco ” lunch,
At the closing of the day, back in the class room, there is a debriefing session of concepts and experiences learned during the day and preparation by each participant of a 90 day action plan.
Videos of the one day program can be seen by clicking on the two top pictures of the “ Home Page ”.
